Sismo DAO + Sismo Genesis Team = 💜
The Sismo DAO is born
We — the Sismo Genesis Team, launched the Sismo DAO as our first release to make clear that we want to build with our community, from the get-go.
The Sismo DAO members, also called Zikies, are the friends of Sismo. They coordinate through their governance-power-bearing ENS subdomains (eg. ziki1337.sismo.eth), which they gratuitously claimed on sismo.io.
There currently are 2 ways to get involved as a Ziki:
- Engage in discussions and provide feedback on our ENS-gated Discord
- Vote on Sismo DAO Snapshot page. Today, the Sismo DAO voting method is 1 subdomain = 1 vote. This, of course, can be changed in the future.
Zikies join the Sismo DAO by generation (Gen[0], Gen[X], Gen[1] … Gen[n]) each coming with its set of rights and attributes.
The Sismo DAO is our — the Sismo Genesis Team — preferred partner and together, we share the goal of bringing better private attestations to Ethereum profiles and improving Internet logins.
Our aim is to gradually concede power to the DAO. This close partnership between the DAO and us will be the foundation over which we intend to build an Ethereum tool that will be used and owned by everyone.
Gen[0] Zikies
On October 19th, 500 Gen[0] Zikies entered the Sismo DAO. In addition to their sismo.eth subdomains, Gen[0] Zikies received an extra Discord Role and the SDAO NFT as proof of appreciation for their early support.
As first joiners, they will always have a special place in the Sismo DAO 💜
Note: The honorary SDAO NFT was named “sismo.eth DAO” whereas “Gen[0] Zikies” would be a better description. This NFT provides no governance power. This ERC721 NFT was mainly used as a technical shortcut to gate our discord access and as an honorary reward.
SDAO is more accurately the generic name for Subdomain DAOs.
Gen [X] Zikies
Gen[X] is a unique generation composed of key stakeholders of the Ethereum community, high value partners, builders and advisors who strengthen the Sismo DAO. They are part of teams like ENS, Aave, Guild, Snapshot , EF, Metacartel, but missed the mark to become Gen[0] — even one the Sismo Genesis team member!
The Gen[X] was born out of a Snapshot vote determined by the Gen[0] Zikies. On November 3rd, Gen[0] voted to burn the SDAO honorary NFT admin keys, which we did (see transaction), and proceeded with onboarding the new generation of Zikies: the Gen[X].
We issued 100 access codes granting Gen[X] Ziki memberships. Gen[X] Zikies have a tight relationship with the Genesis team and assist us to achieve Sismo’s goal by providing strategic guidance, technical assistance, code reviews, network effect and support of any kind.
Gen[A] Zikies
We are currently onboarding the next generation of Zikies, the Gen[A].
They are:
- Builders of the community
- Connectors that will help build partnerships with the best communities out there
- Passionate newcomers, driven by our mission to bring privacy and control over Internet Identities.
